Aurora Biomed Inc. offers the VERSA automated PCR Set-up workstation, a pipetting workstation for high throughput and low volume applications. When processing a large number of PCR reactions, the system is configured to provide high levels of reliability and standardization by eliminating repetitive reaction setup, liquid handling tasks and variations due to handling errors. Highly reproducible PCR amplifications can thus be achieved with no detectable cross-contamination at reaction volumes as low as 1µL.

Applications :

Single and multiplex PCR Set-up
Real time PCR
Sequencing reaction set-up and clean-up
PCR Clean-up
Restriction Digestion Set-up

System Configuration :

The Workstation

Features one robotic arm for liquid handling with single channel dual SyringePipettor module and equipped with tip changer, to generate a series of PCR reaction set-ups ranging between 1µL and 1000µL.

Data Station

The fully integrated data station consists of a standard computing system and customized software. The station comes standard with a computer processor and a LCD monitor. Windows and Office software (Home Edition) is included.

Operating Software

The VERSA Mini PCR Set-up Workstation comes pre-installed with the VERSAware PCR Set-up software v1.0.0 that can perform most common pipetting routines including master-mix preparation, reagent additions, plate-to-plate primer / DNA transfers. This user-friendly Windows-based software guides the user through both the robot set-up and the program with simple on-screen prompts and drop-down menus.

Speed

Reaction set-up time for two 96 well format or two 384 well format ranges between 60 minutes and 90 minutes respectively.

Cross-contamination

Integrated tip changer and autoclaveable tubes and parts eliminates any form of cross-contamination. Capability of using filter-tips / barrier tips for all pipetting applications ensures ‘zero’ cross-contamination.

Instrument Integration

This VERSA workstation can be easily integrated with accessory instruments such as orbital shakers, incubators, micro plate readers, heat blocks and others.

Dimensions

Unlike many other units in the market, the VERSA Mini DNA Sequencing / PCR Set-up Workstation has a very small footprint and takes up very little laboratory space. Its dimensions are WxLxH 550 x 600 x 600 mm and weighs 28 kg only.
