Scie-Plas now provide the first of a series of innovative solutions for those scientists who prefer the latest advances in IPG (immobilised pH gradient) strip technology to more traditional capillary gels. Our recently improved flat-bed isoelectric focusing system (IEF-SYS) allows multiple IPG strips to be resolved simultaneously, while 2nd dimension SDS-PAGE is carried out in our existing TV100 mini- and TV400 maxi-gel formats.

2-D electrophoresis using 7cm IPG strips and 10 x 10cm mini-gels

The TV100YK-2D-IEF-SYS unit is the complete system for running reproducible 10 x 10cm 2-D mini-gels.  A recently redesigned IEF-SYS unit (top image) supports 7cm long SERVA IPG strips (see attachments) during 1st dimension isoelectric focusing (IEF), when each strip may be then overlaid along the top of a 10 x 10cm TV100YK mini-gel (first image from top) for resolution by 2nd dimension SDS-PAGE.

The TV100YK-2D-IEF-SYS unit is supplied with one Consort EV232 3kV power supply (first image from bottom) for high voltage IEF, and a JULABO chiller (bottom) for accurate temperature control during IEF and SDS-PAGE.
